If you are a seafood lover, Phuket has a wide selection of restaurants offering a big diversity of dishes from rock lobsters, red crabs, squid, small and big prawns, local oysters and of course a huge selection of fish freshly caught from long tail boats in the morning.
There are plenty of restaurants all over the island, and depending on where you are staying in Phuket you will find different type of international and local cuisines. Phuket Town is renowned for its Thai and Chinese noodle shops, along with fine Italian and French restaurant, while Rawai Beach (most southern beach of Phuket) is known for its seafood restaurants along the beach next to fishing boats. Patong Beach, Kamala Beach, Kata and Karon beaches are popular amongst tourists and the restaurant selection is more international and fine Royal Thai cuisine.
Thai cuisine: everywhere, of course but do try the famous noodle shops in Phuket Town near the main fresh food market city center, or Thai-Muslim curries with rotis on Thalang Road and do not miss the famous Thai restaurant called The Cook on Phang Nga Road not far from On On Hotel, offering a different style of pizza with Thai flavored toppings.
International cuisine: again everywhere, from Italian to French to Indian to Russian cuisine, Phuket has a bit of everything. The main concentration of restaurants is on Patong Beach, but other beaches also have a wide range of international cuisines. Italian restaurants and steak houses are the most popular but while venturing around you surely will find a fine and different place to dine. Prices are of course much higher than Thai cuisine but relatively cheaper than back home. Many high end hotels and resorts have amazing bunch, lunch and dinner buffets offering a very god selection of local and imported produce to content your biggest or finest appetite.
